Wondering how to order your own custom hat?
At Random rambler, all hats are made by Dan Holden, our specialist, from blocking and shaping. We do things the old-school way.
Once we get the felt the rest of the process is completely hand made, no two hats will be the same, meaning your lid will be uniquely yours and one of a kind,
All Random rambler hats are numbered in the order they’re made, so you will be able to compare your hat number with your mates.
If you want rabbit, beaver or nutria felt the process of getting your own random rambler hat is below,
1. Discovery
After getting a rough idea of the type of hat would like, from either discussing with Dan or by looking around at some other Random rambler hats, you should have a rough idea of colour and shape. You can now complete our order form.
2. Shape, Style and Confirm
You can discuss what you envision your hat to be with Dan over the phone, via video call or email,
You will talk about shape colour and size, and anything else you wish to add.
3. Deposit and Confirmation
So now you have decided to get a real Aussie handmade hat the next step is to secure your spot in the production line, a non-refundable deposit of $200 which also locks in your felt and hat number. Please note that current wait times are 3-4 months
4. Handmade Build and Delivery
Just like that, your hat will be on its way to being handmade and on your head,
You will be provided with photos of your new lid while you pay the balance, and shipping cost, once completed your hat will be put into a random rambler hat box and posted to you
