About Us

My Name is Dan Holden and I'm the maker here at Random Rambler! My life adventures, blood, sweat and tears go into every hat I make. So if you’re interested here is a little yarn about me, my life and how I started Random Rambler.

At age 17 I moved to the Northern Territory to chase my dream of working on cattle stations and I've been on and off stations and farms since 2013 with a mix of rural fencing and knife making.

I'm now 28 and 6 years ago I started Random Rambler, making custom knives and leather sheaths. I've since furthered my knowledge and creativity in the hat-making game. I've always loved western hats just couldn't fathom how to make one, let alone manage to keep one alive for more than 2 years. So, I thought I may as well teach myself how to make my own.

I've chosen the brand name Random Rambler because a Rambler is someone who wonders through the country for happiness, and I guess I’ve just always preferred wide open spaces. The random bit was my Dads idea, as he thinks and I agree that I'm just a little bit random at times in the way I approach life.

My life motto is "I’ll try anything once just to say I’ve done it"!

My goal is to make Random Rambler Australia's best handmade custom hat brand. So, if you want a quality hat or knife and to support a growing Aussie small business, I'm your guy,

Cheers for reading and if you have any questions or ideas please don't be afraid to ask and shoot me a message.

Cheers

Dan the Random Rambler.
